A new patient evaluation includes a health history, spinal exam,
and upper cervical x-rays. Any previous medical records including
x-rays, MRI's, lab tests, etc. will be reviewed. The evaluation requires
approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. Following the review and
analysis of your diagnostic tests, Dr. Larson will review with you
the examination findings and plan for treatment.
After the evaluation, regular care begins. The goal of care is to
correct the misalignment of the upper cervical spine until it stabilizes
in its correct position thereby allowing injured nerves, muscles,
and soft tissue to heal.
Most patients achieve initial results within the first two to four
weeks of care and continue to improve over the following weeks or
months of care. Healing time varies and depends upon several factors
including the age of the patient, severity of the condition, and the
length of time the condition has been present.
Average care regimen for adults: On average a patient is seen two times
per week for two to four weeks; one time per week during the second month;
once every other week for the third month; and once per month until complete
stabilization of the injury occurs. However, each individual's care plan
is specifically designed for his or her case. Pediatric cases typically
require less care than adults.
Insurance coverage for chiropractic varies and your company may or
